Middle School Renovations
The School Board has recently released the Feasibility Study on proposed renovations to Boyce and Fort Couch Middle Schools.

Each of these proposals comes with a price tag and with current debt already at $70 million the additional debt will come close to the district's $125 million dollar ceiling.
Proposal 1--basic renovation
ACT 1
The Pennsylvania Legislature passed Special Session Act 1 in July 2006. The Act requires that every school district appoint a commission of citizens to study the local ramifications of ACT 1. Acting in accordance to this law, USCSD has appointed the Tax Study Commission. Below are links which will help to explain Act 1.
Middle School PSSA Scores
The School Board has asked the Administration to report on actions which can be taken to boost scores on state test which are well below benchmarks set by elementary grades and high school. Directors called for a review of curriculum in light of unspectacular performance of 5th grade students on PSSA reading and math tests.
